Manchester United v Manchester City Free Tips & Match Preview

Manchester United will pay a visit to their next door neighbours for the crucial clash on Sunday. The two sides are separated by four points as they aim for a finish in the top four by the end of this campaign.

Norwich held Manchester City to a goalless draw at Carrow Road, forcing the Citizens to drop two valuable points. Slaven Bilic’s West Ham are also breathing down their neck and are now just two points behind them in the Premier League table.

Earlier this season, Manchester United played host to Manchester City at Old Trafford and the final score was 0 – 0. But last season, in the same fixture Pellegrini’s City got an upper hand with Sergio Aguero’s second half goal separating the two sides.

Manchester United have a slightly better form than their opponents at the weekend. The 20-time English champions have won three and lost two of their last six fixtures in the Premier League in contrast to City who have won two and lost three.

A win will allow the Red Devils to close the gap to a point while West Ham can take more advantage of the situation. However, sixth-placed Man United can even concede their sixth rank and end up at the eighth spot by the end of this week. Prior to the Manchester derby, Van Gaal’s United face Liverpool at Old Trafford for the decisive second leg of the Europa League round of 16 tie.

Juan Mata served his one-match suspension in Manchester United’s 1 – 1 draw against West Ham. The Spaniard will be available for selection and there could be more good news for Old Trafford faithful as the skipper Wayne Rooney might be ready to make his comeback after the international break.

There could be managerial changes at both the clubs in the summer. It will be interesting to see which manager will reign supreme in the last Manchester derby prior to the possible Mourinho – Guardiola era in Manchester.

An interesting Fixture and one in which I think both teams will make mistakes and thus goals will be scored.

For this reason both teams to score seems the best bet.
