Leicester City are the new Premier League champions. The Foxes have sealed the title against all odds with two matches still to go.
Chelsea held Tottenham to a 2 – 2 draw at Stamford Bridge on Monday. This has allowed Claudio Ranieri’s men an opportunity to rejoice with their fans at their home stadium. Leicester play host to Everton at the King Power Stadium on Saturday. The result of this fixture won’t matter much to the fans as they have already achieved much more than they bargained for, at the start of the season. However, a defeat for Everton can push the Toffees to the 13th spot in the league table.
Roberto Martinez’s men picked up three points against Bournemouth at the weekend, their first win in the last six league fixtures. Their form has been abysmal for quite some time now. The Merseyside club have lost two and drawn three of their last six matches while their opponents on Saturday, Leicester, have won four and drawn two of their last six league meetings.
The newly crowned English champions were victorious against Everton at Goodison Park in December 2015. Interestingly, Everton haven’t beaten Leicester since their promotion to the English top flight. Their last win over the Foxes came in December 2003. However, it seems quite plausible that Leicester might become complacent in Saturday’s fixture after becoming the champions.
According to William Hill, Everton are 12/5 to grab a win at the King Power Stadium while a draw is 11/4. It won’t be completely rash to bet against a Leicester win.
