Swansea City v Manchester United – Free Tips and Match Preview

A good win for us on last week’s football tip with Man Utd winning to nil at odds of 20/21!

Manchester United seem to have got the swagger of the old very much back as was manifest in their 4-0 thumping of West Ham United at Old Trafford on Saturday. Romelu Lukaku already has got into the act of repaying the staggering £75 million invested in him by getting the two opening goals for the season. United attacked with a new kind of flair that saw them dish out 22 shots on the goal. Mikhitariyan, Rashford and Mata were in full flow and even Pogba who was a damp squib last season chipped in with a last-minute goal.

Swansea City, despite a dogged performance in holding Southampton to a 0-0 draw will be hard-pressed to defend their goal against a Manchester United in this kind of form. The only fear is that of United possibly slipping into a shell that earned them needless drawn matches in the 2016-17 season and cost them the chance of being in the Top Four.

For the Swans, central defender Alfie Mawson provided the only comforting performance in their clash against Southampton. But he will need the support of quite a few if his side are make any meaning out of the weekend encounter against the visiting Red Devils. Strikers, loanee Tammy Abraham from Chelsea and club mainstay Leroy Fers will have to avoid the mistakes that led them to miss easy opportunities against Southampton.

As for Mourinho, he could start off with Fellaini and Martial for Saturday’s game, both of who he introduced late in the clash against West Ham. For Lukaku, it will be a chance to add a goal or two to his kitty against a club that somehow staved off relegation last season and recovered to a somewhat respectable 15th spot (astonishingly ahead of sides like Burnley and Watford).

The Swans showed an ability to soak in a lot of pressure in the dying moments of the 2016-17 season and ended it with a flurry of 5 undefeated games including a dogged 1-1 draw against United at Old Trafford. Even the most optimistic of  Swansea fans are not expecting a similar result at the Liberty Stadium on the afternoon of August 19. Bookmakers are expecting the firepower of the Red Devils to prevail big time on Saturday.

Odds for a 2-0 Manchester United win are coming at 11/2 and for a 3-0 win at 8/1. Odds for a 1-1 draw is a surprising 17/2 and a 1-0 Swansea win at 20/1.
