Chile will host Senegal National Football Team in La Serena, Chile in 15.01.2013. It will be first match between Chile and Senegal National Teams. Chile was going well in CONMEBOL World Cup 2014 qualification matches however they lost 3 matches in a row and made things harder for themselves. Chile has lost their last 5 matches. They lost against Argentina and Colombia in home and lost against Ecuador (twice) and Serbia in away. I believe head coach Jorge Sampaoli would like to try new faces against Senegal. He called-up young and unexperienced and uncapped players. Claudio Bravo, Miguel Pinto, Pablo Contreras, Gary Medel, Matias Fernandez, Arturo Vidal, Manuel Iturra, Felipe Gutierrez, Felipe Seymour, Marc Gonzales, Mauricio Isla, Alexis Sanchez, Eduardo Vargas, Humberto Suazo, Sebastian Pinto, Mauricio Pinilla, Esteban Parades hasn’t been called up.
Senegal had an unfortunate draw in Africa Cup of Nations Qualification rounds and they had to play against Côte d’Ivoire. They lost against them and couldn’t qualify to group stages. They have good squad and they will want to prove it against Chile. It will be a good experience for unexperienced Chile squad.
