EPL preview:  Burnley vs Arsenal – Turf Moor – November 26

Arsene Wenger’s decision to start a match with a three-pronged attack of Mesut Ozil, Alexandre Lacazette and Alexis Sanchez seems to have paid off well in his team’s emphatic 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday. Wenger is expected to maintain the attacking trio when the Gunners travel to Turf Moor for a weekend Premier league clash with Burnley. An otherwide lacklustre season for Ozil and Sanchez came to life at the Emirates last weekend with both forwards performing to their full potential with Sanchez getting his first goal at home for the season.

The Gunners will have to combine in the same manner as they did against Spurs if they are to make a match of it at the Turf Moor on Sunday. This becomes more important in the light of Arsenal’s performance on the road this season. Away wins still elude Arsene Wenger’s men in a big way having just registered just a solitary win against Everton. Burnley could be among the more difficult away opponents for the Gunners to deal with in an away fixture. Sean Dyche’s men are on equal points with Arsenal on the EPL points table and are a place below their Sunday rivals in the 7th spot.

The Clarets were without their lead scorer, Chris Wood, in their 2-0 win over Swansea City, but is expected to be back for the crucial clash at Turf Moor.English international striker, Sam Vokes, who was introduced late in the Swansea clash could start off against Arsenal. Striker Ashley Barnes who filled in for Woods against the Swans was brilliant and could prove to be a handful for the Gunners defense.

The Arsenal defense of Laurent Koscielny, Shkodran Mustafi, Nacho Monreal and Hector Bellerín could be tested big time at Turf Moor, given their dismal record in away games (12 conceded on the road against just 4 at home). But save two disappointing losses against Watford and Manchester City, the Gunners have had a good couple of months having won five of their seven previous Premier League games.Alexis Sanchez could be back to his old scoring ways and Lacazette looks to be in sublime touch (the side’s highest scorer with 6 goals). Arsenal definitely are the better side on paper despite their poor record on the road in the 2017-18 season.

The Gunners have a Europa League outing against FC Koln away in Germany on Thursday. They lead their Group comfortably and are certain entrants into the Round of 32. They have won three of their four outings in the touranment since September.Given this bright September-November phase, Arsenal look the side coming off better in the Turf Moor clash on Sunday and the bookmakers’ odds reflect just that.
