FA Cup Semi-final Preview & Tips: Everton vs Manchester United

Everton play host to Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United in the penultimate stage of this year’s FA Cup. The winner of this tie will the winner of the other semi-final between Crystal Palace and Watford.

Manchester United made it to the Wembley semi-final after beating West Ham 2 – 1 in the replay at Upton Park. Marcus Rashford and Marouane Fellaini netted one each while Tomkins got one back for the Hammers.

Everton reached the semi-final after beating Chelsea 2 – 0 in the last round. Romelu Lukaku scored twice to beat his former side in the game at Goodison Park.

Manchester United have done the double over Roberto Martinez’s Everton this season. This Premier League season, the Red Devils have defeated the Toffees 3 – 0 at Goodison Park and 1 – 0 at Old Trafford.

The 20-time English champions have a much better form than their opponents on Saturday. United have won four and lost two of their last six league fixtures while Everton have lost three and drawn three. The Merseyside club are currently 11th in the league table and with one slip-up they can end up at the 16th spot.

United’s Dutch boss could be on his way out of the club this summer. The FA Cup can potentially be his first silverware with the English giants and also the last trophy of his glorious managerial career.

I expect Man Utd to take this one seriously with the Top 4 qualification a big ask, this could be the club’s only hope of success. Lets not forget though that Everton have made it this far in the CUP this year and in recent years have made it to the quarter finals and semi finals.

I think the wonderkid Marcus Rashford looks excellent value at 21/10 to score anytime. He’s banged 7 goals in 11 appearances, and is overpriced.
